Hookdeck Review: July 2025

In this July 2025 review, we cover our brand new v4 dashboard built for clarity and speed, the ability to reorder transformations and filters, the release of Outpost v0.4.0 with Azure Service Bus destination type support, our collaboration with Stripe including best practices for webhook handling, our comprehensive Webhooks at Scale guide, and 14 new Source Types added to the Hookdeck Event Gateway.
Dashboard v4: Built for Clarity and Speed
We've completely redesigned the Hookdeck dashboard from the ground up. The v4 update focuses on clarity and speed, with a new data-dense layout, revamped metrics, and dedicated pages for your resources like Sources, Destinations, and Transformations. The enhanced sidebar now provides more contextual data to accelerate your debugging workflow.

Transformation & Filter Ordering
You can now control whether transformations run before or after filters in your connections. This gives you more flexibility to avoid unnecessary processing, simplify your transformation logic, and use filter-only metadata without it being sent to your downstream systems.
Read the Transformation Ordering blog post for a detailed walkthrough of this new feature.
Outpost v0.4.0 Released
Outpost, our self-hosted webhook and event destinations service, now supports Azure Service Bus queues and topics as an event destination in v0.4.0. This is a big step for developer tool companies building on Microsoft infrastructure or using Azure-based application stacks.

Collaborating with Stripe
We've been busy collaborating with the Stripe Developer Relations team. We wrote a best practice guide on API rate limit-friendly patterns for Stripe webhooks for the Stripe Developer Blog. We've also been involved in the Stripe Developers Chicago and London meetups.
Next up, we'll be speaking at the Stripe Developer Meetup in Dublin on September 18th.
Webhooks at Scale
We've distilled our experience from processing over 100 billion webhooks into a comprehensive guide on handling webhooks at scale. The article covers best practices for idempotency, queuing, retries, and observability to help you build a robust webhook infrastructure.
