Hookdeck Event Gateway Metrics are Now Free on All Plans

Published

The Hookdeck Event Gateway Metrics feature is now available on all plans, including our free tier.

Previously a paid feature, Metrics provides essential request, event, and delivery insights. We believe that strong observability is fundamental to building reliable event-driven systems. As we've written about before when discussing webhooks at scale, knowing what you received, what failed, system status and performance, and why is critical for debugging and incident response. By making Metrics free, we're ensuring every developer using Hookdeck has the high baseline level of observability needed to manage their event-driven systems effectively.

This wasn't just about removing a paywall. We also took this opportunity to address inconsistencies and improve the user experience based on feedback.

UX Improvements

Sources, Connections, and Destinations within the Metrics section of the Hookdeck Event Gateway dashboard

We've made several improvements to how metrics are displayed:

  • Simplified Grouping: The previous grouping by Requests, Events, and Attempts has been changed to Sources, Connections, and Destinations for a cleaner, more intuitive view.
  • Integrated Totals: Totals are now displayed directly within each chart, removing the need for separate summary cards and providing a more immediate overview.
  • Explore Your Data: On applicable charts, you'll find an "Explore" option in the context menu. This links you to the requests page with filters applied that correspond to the metric you were viewing, allowing for easier navigation from insight to the raw data.
